24 Hour holter Monitor
A 24 Hour Holter Monitor is a small, wearable device that records the electrical activity of your heart for a 24 hour period.
This test can identify the cause of abnormal heart rhythms (ie. arrhythmias) and symptoms such as palpitations, dizziness and/or blackouts.
To apply the device, several sticky pads (electrodes) will be attached to your chest. These electrodes are then connected to the recorder via several leads.
Once the device is applied, you can undertake your usual daily activities. If you experience any symptoms (such as palpitations), please press the "event" button (the top button on the device).
Please do not shower, bathe or undertake watersports whilst wearing the monitor.
Please return the monitor to Victoria Heart reception by 10:00 am on the following morning.
